UAEM-VU: WHO WE ARE
UAEM-VU is a non-profit student organization that contributes to the promotion of a fair access to medicines by raising awareness among students. We are a relative new chapter and have been busy engaging new members this year. UAEM-VU is a chapter that is still evolving. Our aim is to grow and to make a substantial contribution to UAEM’s goals. Two main projects are on our agenda: Global Access Licensing and raising awareness.
In order to create awareness we organize different types of events throughout the year. This year we will organize an interdisciplinary lecture series and a movie night. Other events that we host are debates, a pubquiz and information sessions. These events contribute to awareness about the importants of current social problems regarding access to medicine and diseases. Currently antibiotic resistence is a major problem and that should be high on the agenda. Therefore this will be the topic of the next movienight.
Another main topic is the access to medicines itself. UAEM wants to find a solution for the limited access to essential medicine in collaboration with the University and local parties.
If you are interested and you want to get involved in raising awareness and advocating for better access to medicine, don’t hesitate and send an email to UAEM-VU@gmail.com, and we will contact you with more details!
